There is a new boom in English education in Japan now that English is being taught in elementary schools. Kids Chorus is to help children learn English by singing songs.

日本の英語教育において新しいブームが起こっています。英語は今、小学校で教えられています。子供のコーラスは子供たちが歌を歌うことによって英語を学べるようお手伝いします。

The Kids

The chorus is mainly for children of elementary school age, but younger and older students are also welcome.

Mums (or dads) are also welcome. Smaller children may need to be accompanied by a parent, whereas as older children may prefer to attend by themselves. However mums, or dads, are welcome for another reason. The Suzuki violin school found that if mothers and children learn the violin together, the mother’s enthusiasm encouraged the students learning. Similarly, when children can share the pleasure of singing with their parents they will enjoy singing and happily learn English.

コーラスは主に小学生のためのものですが、幼稚園児や中学生も歓迎します。

お母さん（お父さん）も歓迎します。幼稚園児にはご両親の付き添いが必要ですが、中学生は自分で参加してもらって構いません。

鈴木バイオリン・スクールは、お母さんと子供が一緒にバイオリンを習うとお母さんの熱意によって子供が学ぶ意欲を持つと述べています。同様に、子供がご両親とともに歌う喜びを共有すると詠うのが楽しくなり英語を学ぶことも楽しくなります。

The Teacher

Robin Eve is both a music teacher and a language teacher.

He studied at the Royal Academy of Music from 1964-67 and spent several years as a professional musician. Then, in 1975, he became a music teacher in secondary schools in the U.K.

After further training, he obtained in 1986 a degree in education, B.Ed (Hons), then, in 1989, an M.A. at London University in Second Language Teaching and Learning.

In 1989 he came to Japan where he has lived ever since teaching English in Japanese universities. He is currently employed in the University of Hyogo (Prefecture). In his spare time he is actively involved in music in and around Kobe.

ロビン・イヴは音楽と英語の教師です。

1964―67年　王立音楽アカデミーで学び、プロのミュージシャンとして活動する。その後、1975年に、イギリスの中学・高校で音楽教師をする。

さらに教育を受け、1986年に教育に関してロンドン大学で学士号を取得、1989年に第二言語教育で修士号を取得する。

1989年に来日し、日本の大学で英語を教えている。現在、兵庫県立大学に勤務。余暇は神戸周辺で積極的に音楽活動に従事している。

The Book

‘Do you Like Singing’ is a collection of songs written specially for teaching English. The song lyrics are based on language structures and vocabulary at a suitable level for elementary school pupils. The songs are specially written to be easy to sing and enjoyable for children.

‘Do you Like Singing’は特に英語を教えるために書かれた歌が集められています。歌の歌詞は小学生にあったレベルの文法や単語が基本になっています。歌は特に子供が歌いやすく楽しめるように書かれています。

Copies of the songbook and accompanying CD will be available for purchase from Robin Eve. In each lesson the words of the songs will be given out.

歌のテキストと付属ＣＤはロビン・イヴから購入できます。毎回のレッスンで歌詞を配布します。

The Classes

 神戸市西区美賀多台1-3の集会室で授業を行います。

コース１０回レッスン・年２回コース。

午後1時から2時まで毎月第１・第3土曜に授業を行います。

授業料: 子ども1人     　　　　　 (一回・1000円)　  　

子ども一人と大人　　 (一回・1500円)　  　 

子ども 2、3 人 と大人 (一回・2000円)　  　 

要テキスト+CD (2000 円)
